The year 2008 in Novy Urengoy saw construction begin on one of Russia’s largest gas and chemical complexes, a process that continues to this day. The complex is a Gazprom daughter company.
The decision to begin construction was made back in 1993, though the actual work did not begin until 2008. The Novy Urengoy gas and chemical complex primarily produces polyethylene granules made from gas using Linde Group technology.
The Linde Group contacted All Correct to translate its documentation.
The Linde Group translation project included a number of tricky areas:
MemoQ Server helped cope with those problems, as the entire project — including formatting — was handled using it. Glossaries were created for the project, ensuring consistent terminology usage across all files.
Standard testing procedures facilitated the selection of translators for the project: candidates submitted translation tests used to evaluate their knowledge of the subject matter.
By October 2010 All Correct had put together a team of 14 translators specializing in gas and chemistry under the direction of the project manager.
Each month All Correct submitted an average of 200 translated pages (from 40 to 400, depending on the Linde Group’s needs) to the client, and by June 2011 a total of 1,900 pages had been translated.
The Linde Group was founded in 1878 by Carl von Linde. Fast-forward to today, and the company is among the leading producers of industrial gases globally, in addition to its work manufacturing storage facilities and implementing patented technology aimed at the hydrogen economy, polymer production, and much more.
The Linde Group provides its services to customers across 50 different countries, while its official representative in Russia is Linde Gas Rus OAO.
