General information

The maintenance manual for a three-channel electrocardiograph with interpretation as well as both the maintenance and user manuals for digital video colposcope software needed to be translated and laid out for intra-company use by client staff.

Project management

The translation team was augmented by bringing on board specialists working in medical equipment manufacturing and doctors with experience operating similar equipment.

However, the client’s particular goals and intended use for the translations made it important to also lay out the texts. Layout is a complex service that includes formatting the translation and inserting graphics (figures, pictures, etc.), and is needed most when the original text has different fonts, a variety of colors, and graphical elements with set parameters that need to be accurately reproduced in the translation.
